I got both from the same gentelman who agreed to meet me there and deliver them to me.
Each was complete and between them had all needed tubes.
It looked pretty well built, and fairly clean inside.
After close inspection I couldn't find signs of previous damage or modifications other than the Improved Keying mod.
I had planned to do this mod, and since it was done well, I can skip this.
I started by recapping, as always I use kits from Hayseed Hamfest.
One of the easist to recap I've ever done.
This is the first test of the LV after installing new caps.
The HV rectifiers were pulled during this test.
With the LV checking out I made a few other fixes and went for a HV check.
at first it went south on me, there was an issue with a couple of the can capacitors that caused some damage.
Thankfully it was an easy fix and after that the HV test was a sucess!
20 mils on the plate yields almost 100W output. That's good for now!
The meter switch was acting bad so I changed it and cleaned up the wires a bit.
Looks a lot better and works real great now.
The power cord looked rather nasty and wasnt soldered very well.
I cut the bad end, installed a grommet, and took cleaner to the cord. It can out a lot better looking.
All finished and running 100%.
From flea market junk to a restored and used radio.
